Local News interns will be assigned a variety of reporting tasks focused on events in and around North Texas. Assignments will range from spot news to quick-turn and long-term enterprise coverage.

You will also be expected to:

• Take smartphone photos and video.

• Actively use social media in the news-gathering process.

• Contribute to published work across digital and print platforms.

• Be treated as a full newsroom member—pitching ideas, attending editorial meetings, and collaborating across teams.

• Gain hands-on multimedia and cross-platform storytelling experience.

• Selections Announced: By December 31, 2025

• Must be enrolled in college and working toward a degree (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate) or have graduated within six months prior to the internship start date.
• Must include a cover letter, résumé with references, and 3–5 published clips. Applicants may also include 1–2 photos or a short video sample to showcase visual or multimedia storytelling.
• Reliable transportation is strongly preferred.
• Samples must be legible and clearly labeled; incomplete applications will not be considered.
